I am also looking to lose a lot of weight and am at the beginning of a major journey. I am 2 weeks shy of being 1 year clean and sober by the grace of God – now I am looking to clean up all the other parts of my life I have left neglected. I am about 5 days into living a vegan lifestyle, and have been juicing for a few days now. I am looking to do a fast as well – I believe in juicing, how can’t I? After seeing results so quickly and feeling so wonderful (after a few rough days of adjustment..) I am on my way to a new way of life. I am so inspired by your story and your attitude. Especially your enthusiasm for exercise – I have caught myself caring too much about how I don’t feel fit enough to be at the gym and end up sabotaging my exercise efforts. If you can do it with an awesome attitude, I can too! I like that you are real about your struggles and explain that you have your rough days but that is what makes everything that much more easy to relate to. Bottom line, you want to have a better life, and I am on board with you girl!! I have over 150 pounds to lose and am so grateful to see someone else who is on board with lifestyle changes over surgery.
God Bless, keep sharing your experience, strength and hope & thank you!
Im a 22yr old AA female and i weight 412 pds. i ran across your channel on youtube awhile ago and just been amazed at your spirit and confidence. FINALLY an actual overweight person thats not having surgery just the old fasion workout. I am insprired by you especially with your how-to exercise videos for big girls. Never thought i could even do i squat, but you did it so I can do it. Just wanted to let you know your confidence is just amazing. Can’t til I feel that way about myself. I started my official journey today and had to let the person that was in my head to push forward a big THANK YOU..i get so excited when I get your tweet saying you uploaded a new vid! I wish you greatness and love from NJ.
Hello ladies. I have read some of the comments concerning weight loss and fasting. I am a sixty year old mom who also struggled with obesity. I agree that fasting is a very good way to lose weight but be very careful. I practice fasting for 30 to 40 days every few months and my health is top notch. I advise that although fasting is good, know when to say its enough. When you are very weak and hunger returns, it is best to discontinue with the fast. Allow your strength to return before attempting to continue. The plan of a wise choice of foods after the fast is good. If you lose the battle and give in to cravings, relax, God made tomorrow to try again so don’t be discouraged. The fact that you acknowledged your weight gain and erged to do something about it, is the blessing. Remember, the human race is blessed, having the ability to rise above any situation with time and persistence. So…all said; welcome to the world of the achievers, and see you at your desired weight. Be encouraged…and welcome to the world of the knowledge of the Gods…the fast!
Thank you for that. I needed to read that. May I share it on my video??
Wow where do I start? Let me just say first how much I admire you for what you are doing, adopting a healthy lifestyle is not easy for sure but your attitude and determination will be what makes you succeed. I haven’t as much weight as you to lose but I am much older, youth helps weight come off faster and you have hormones to help too. I bet you will lose much faster than I will no matter how much less I have to lose and you will probably hit your target first! That would be great as you are my and many others inspiration. If you can do this with seven kids , so can I, who only has one kid left at home. Its about time I started to think of me a little bit. I don’t care anymore if I ever get slim, I just want to walk again and do things that I have not been able to do these last four years, in my funk I have gained a hundred pounds that I have to get off. You still walk and swim and excercise, that is wonderful! I hope I can get to that point too! Please keep it up and great job, kill the sugar cravings and the candida that causes them. Best of luck , every person who you touch sends you energy to continue, I send you some of mine too!!
yes i understand , i feel like i am losing my battle , but i will fight back, no matter, you will get their
I appreciate you and everyone else who sends positive energy my way! Thank you so very much!! I know in my heart that you will get to swimming and walking one day..just always keep your eyes on the prize of health and freedom!
You are such an inspiration, dear!
I 100% agree that weight loss surgery is so dangerous and, as you may have read about Carnie Wilson the other day, obviously now appears to be a ‘fall-back’ plan!
I’m 32 and also looking to change how I eat and how little I exercise. I call it a ‘lifestyle change’ because it essentially is for a lifetime. Best of luck – you’re certainly on the right track & I commend your initiative and effort. You’re going to do it!
Ok mama!!!! God’s speed! Let’s go, and let God!

Hey Chanda, WOW!!!!! I found your website through youtube and read your posts and was moved by the VISION and DETERMINATION you have. I BELIEVE IN YOU and KNOW that with that blast of fire you hold within your heart, NOTHING WILL EVER BE UNATTAINABLE FOR YOU!!! This touched my heart to see how open and candid you are and how you respond to your guests when they have questions or are feeling discouraged in this WAR AGAINST WEIGHT. I am 20 years old and personally have never been overweight, but most of my friends and family, including my mother, are or have been. My best friend John, whom I have known since I was 10 years old has been overweight since I met him back in the fifth grade, and I saw the struggles he had with his low-self esteem. The kids at school would tease him and make jokes about him behind his back. When he got a little older he began trying different ways to lose weight and none of them worked. What made it even more difficult was the fact that he, at age 18, became a manger at McDonald’s and still is at age 21 . But about three months ago, he found SOMETHING that FINALLY IS WORKING and he showed me. IT’S WORKING so well that he became a part of the movement. He lost 10 lbs. in his first three days!!! When he told me that, I became worried that he had lost it way too fast. But when John showed me HOW he did it and WHAT he used, I was amazed. He did it NATURALLY through the use of ENZYMES. This is something that I had never seen or heard of before. I’M SEEING the results firsthand and I am very impressed. Not only does it it help with weight loss, but it also helped MY DIGESTIVE HEALTH problem when I tried it!!! This is SOMETHING I BELIEVE WILL CHANGE THE WORLD 1% AT A TIME.
Ok, well thank you Darius, but what is this magic potion you speak off??:)
Found your website through youtube. Just wanted to tell you that you are beautiful inside and out. I have thoroughly enjoyed your candor and honesty. Your courage inspires me. I, too, am overweight but I’ve already gone through the lap band procedure and I managed to out-eat it. You have the right idea. At the end of the day, its all about diet and exercise and there are no short cuts. Its so hard but accepting what needs to be done is a big step. Keep trying, girl and don’t give up. Can’t wait to see great things from you!!!
Aww, thank you Jennifer, that means a lot to me!!
Hi! i came across your videos on youtube and i just wanted to to tell you that you are not alone on this weight loss journey. I am planning to lose weight myself. im in december i weighed 296 and im curently 280. You are a inspiration to me as well as the other ladies that are losing weight. Im 23 years old and i would really like to be healthy. I would like to be to tell you and everone on this blog, to stay positive and keep pushing forth. Together we can reach our goals.
Hi Chanda, I was reluctant to write this post, but you were such an encouragement to me, so I hope my words will be an encouragement to you. I have lost 41 lbs in the last month. I found out that my metabolism was so slow that even dieting didn’t help. I found a metabolic clinic that dealt with restarting your metabolism, and it is working. DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!! You can do it You just have to find the right way to lose the weight. Not all body types lose weight at the same rate, be kind to yourself and march forward. When I went to the clinic I found out that the scale can also be a friend, too. The first step was difficult and I am constantly watching was goes int my mouth. The post about Whitney Houston is another affirmation that life is short.
I thank you for writing me Tina! Your words are an encouragement to me, Indeed! Thank you!!:)
CHANDRA, I WATCHED SEVERAL OF YOUR YOUTUBE VIDEOS. THE ONE WHERE YOU SHARED YOUR WEIGHT MADE ME CRY….HOW I ADMIRE YOU FOR HAVING THE GUTS TO SHARE THAT WITH THE WORLD, I AM NOT THERE BUT I WANT TO BE. I AM ON A WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY (AGAIN) I STARTED JANUARY 2ND AND SO FAR SO GOOD….ONE DAY @ A TIME, SOMETIMES ONE MEAL @ A TIME. I AM DOING WEIGHT WATCHERS WHICH ALWAYS WORK FOR ME UNTIL I LOSE CONTROL AND GO BACK TO BAD HABITS….OLD HABITS REALLY DO DIE HARD!!! THIS TIME I AM SURE THAT I WILL REACH MY GOAL AND NOT ONLY THAT BUT MAINTAIN IT!!! I NEED TO LOSE ABOUT 150 LBS, BY THE CHARTS I WILL STILL BE OBESE BUT BY ME I WILL BE JUST FINE!!! THAT WILL PUT ME AT ABOUT 190LBS. LETS TAKE THIS JOURNEY TOGETHER I AM PRAYING THAT WE CAN BOTH BE SUCCESSFUL. WE ARE BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED!!!
Yes, we are! I will be praying for you as well! Yes, it was so hard for me to share my weight and even though I know that it would get me wayyy more subscribers, I just CAN’T share with all of my friends and family that I’m on youtube doing this. I want to lose 100 lbs first. Some have found out on my husbands side, and that is so horrifying to me as it is, lol! Please keep me updated on your weight loss journey, lets do this together!!:)
Just found you just now and am committed to praying for you, to working alongside you, and encouraging you in Christ to see how amazing and beautiful you are and to know that you are love, favored, and blessed in and during and after your 200 pound loss this upcoming year!!!!
Thank you so much Sharon!!

I FELT GREAT. I GOTA GET BACK THERE. WE CAN ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER BEING TO STRONG BLACK WOMEN WHO HAVE THE SAME GOAL IN MIND. OBESITY IS SO COMMON AND IT CAN KILL AND I WANT TO LIVE.

Hi I just wanted to say your are not alone. I’m a single mom of 1. And i’m going to losing 242lbs. You are a motivator. Lets motivate each other. I’m taking it one day at a time. We didn’t gain this weight overnight. It takes time to lose it.

Hey Mrs.BabyFat. I am a 13 year old girl who has lost 50 pounds (healthly) and I’m looking into toning up and it’s takin me a year, but just like you I had the almighty power of Jesus Christ to help me through it! I stumbled across your videos one day and now I watch them every Thursday and I even have started the Boot Camp with you! I know how hard it can be but what always pushed me was thinking to your self of the after effect! It dosn’t matter to me any more if I’m a size 00, all that matters now is that I love my body and myself. You are a really up beat person and I am so excited for you because I see the determination in your eyes and the passion for Christ in your heart and I know your desire for a healthier lifestyle is only a few months away! I just had to tell you that you really inspire me and I know it’s hard, but through Jesus Christ ANYTHING is possible! <3 Best of Luck <3
That’s amazing sweetie!! 50 lbs at 13 is WONDERFUL!! Thanks for joining the boot camp, please keep me posted on how it works out for you! You write so well to be so young, you should start your own blog!!:)
Thank you so much! And I will keep you posted!
I don’t remember how I stumbled across your videos on YouTube, but I’m so thankful that I did. I have, yet again, started a weight loss war. It’s hard to get re-motivated but it’s necessary. I feel like I’m fighting for my life. You are a wonderful inspiration – you are beautiful, motivated, un-thin, determined, successful (your numbers keep doing down!) – not to mention you have a supportive family. Thanks for setting a positive example. If you are ever on Alabama’s Gulf Coast, look me up for some walkin’ and talkin’. Keep up the good work!
Aww, thank you!! I will do that, I’m always looking for a workout buddy!!:)
Hi,I ran across your vids on youtube, today, and already you have become an inspiration to me.I would love to lose 60 pounds.I’ve had 2 kids, and never quite lost the weight. This is the heaviest I’ve ever been,I’ve always been around 130.Now,I am near 200.I know 60lbs may seen small, but if it means a healthier life,no weight loss is small.I will continue to follow you,and hopefully I too will begin to lose,so that I can get back to the person I used to be physically, but spiritually and mentally,I am just a positive young lady. Thanks for the vids and I look forward to hearing more from you.God bless
Thak you and I understand that an extra 60lbs is not healthy either way! May God bless you in your journey!
You are really an inspiration Im only 18yrs and have to struggle with my weight because of your motivation and cheery self i was able to lose 5lbs pounds because even though I dont do youtube i look foward evey wed. to see you weigh in because a hero isnt a person who earns A+ or saves a persons life or is always right
(even though all that is good) a hero is the one that even though they struggle in school they manage and work hard to get that C or a person who tries to lose weight and no matter how many times whether once or a hundred times struggle to get back on track and try to lose weight…they ultimately never give up! and let me tell you.. you are my hero, and even if you gain weight , just the fact that your outhere being a normal person and not giving up makes you my hero:)
I look foward to the day i am able to run a marathon and see you finish the journey you once started, because people only live once so we have to meke the most out of it!:)
That fills my heart with joy to know that you log on to see my videos on Wednesdays!! I’m so proud of you losing 5lbs!!! Please don’t ever stop..it really IS easier to lose the weight while you are younger! I believe that you WILL run that marathon, please keep my updated!

Congrats on losing the 20pounds!! You are so right, no negativity! We’ve got this!!
You really are inspiring me to keep it going. I have to lose about 152 more pounds (down 6 so far). Each time I think of giving up I think, WWMD. By continuing on your journey everyday, you inspire people, no matter where they are in the journey and no matter how much they have to lose, to keep pressing on. You are very positive. You really, truly are a blessing.
Thank you Ayana, that means a lot to me!!:)
