Thank you so much for your story. My prayers are with you. The only thing harder than losing weight is gaining it back. Seeing the same people that said “Hey, you are looking great!” now whisper when they see me, is so very painful. Eventually, we get back on the horse. Keep the faith! I’m trying to focus on the scripture.. Give thanks to the LORD for he is good, his love endures forever.

Hope to see you post another update soon–even if the number is up. You’re an inspiration to those of us who have lost but gained again. Definitely a winding road.

I myself set out to lose 300lbs once–but that was three years ago…and let’s just say I’m hoping to lose 400lbs now lol. Hope to hear from you soon, Chanda!

You can do it girl!!!! I lost 83 lbs in the past year without much sports (due to hip replacement surgery). SO with zumba and aqua jogging, you can beat the pounds and let your inner goddess sparkle!
Dont give up on yourself ever! Weight loss is never a straight line down. There will be bumps, but as long as you keep believing in your self, you will be able to keep going …..

  13. Keep up the good work! I think your blog and the way you interact with people is great. You have become an inspiration for many, and they also give you much needed support. That in itself is truly a blessing. You will lose the weight, and I am most certain of that. You have the determination and the drive to get there. I, in these past few years, have also started to learn about what getting healthy really means. I am on this journey with you also.

  14. Divah4u2 says:

I really love and appreciate your videos, I especially love the one that you posted about our people (black folk). I have experienced the same thing when it came to losing weight. The talk about your weight and what you need to do. You start to lose weight and they have negative things to say because of it. I get the most negative comments from women. I have never gotten anything negative from men. Women don’t want you doing any better that they are. I am in school full-time at (45 years old) and I don’t get no support for that! The one person that is supportive with prayers, conversation, money, hugs and kisses is my mother. She never ceases to tell me that I can do it! She believes is my so much that she make it possible that I can do what I do. My life would be perfect if I did not have this food addiction money on my back. I have lost alot of weight through out the years and I have managed to put every pound back on. My present weight is 315, I am 5’9″ tall. I would like to be between 175 – 180 pounds. I am doing water aerobics, walking and video tapes, but most of all I am changing the way that I think and my relationship with food. Please keep up the good work. I am reading Psalms 23 this morning and what I glean from it is that God is our provision and our comfort. Even though we walk through that valley of darkness (or dark times) we will fear no evil circumstances! I am going to meditate on this. I will also keep you in my prayers! You will hear from me, I don’t know you and you don’t know me. But we both know that lord, be strong and courages. His strenght is made perfect in our weakness! :-)

    Hi Chanda,
I saw you on YouTube and thought to myself that young lady is to be applauded and supported for her courage and determination. I would like to join you on this journey. My personal weight goal is to lose 80 to 100lbs. Seeing you gave me the push I needed to do something about the addition I live with 24/7. I am determined to make it work this time. I think its less about the pounds each week and more about the small life style changes that you make that will sustain you. I know what to do and how to lose weight. My challenge is doing the harder job of keeping it off. So in addition ensuring that I make some changes to how I live I have to address “whats eating me and the root cause of why I eat”. I think for anyone trying to deal with this demon you have to
the cause in order to gain the coping skills to change it. God Bless you all.

Chanda, become engage in the best love affair of your life……..that’s the one you have with yourself.

    • Chanda says:

Love it..that is beautiful Mahogany! YOU should be applauded for coming up with that statement, I will have to borrow it if you don’t mind, lol! Become engaged in the best love affair of your life, with myself..wow..powerful. Thank you!

WOW! You go girl. You can do it! Weight loss is such a struggle. I’ve been overweight to varying degrees for 3 decades – yes over 30 years! Crazy. Not sure what clicked but thankful to be focused and on the right track now. Last Feb I weighed 367.5 pounds. Today I am at 208.5 WITHOUT surgery. I have changed the way I eat and am going to make it to the overall final goal this time. I’ve blogged the progression at http://www.3fatchicks.com/diet-blogs/gum2323 if you’d like more info and details.

I wish you only the best. YOU CAN DO IT!

  17. Ann Prince says:

Hello…I just seen one of your video on you tube of your journey to loose 300lbs. I don’t know which method you are using. As I was watching I said to myself that you are a beautiful person. Just because you gain the weight from child bearing this doesn’t make you less of a person. Keep your head up and continue to take action and you will reach your goal. I never had a weight problem not to saying that I could because when I gain weight I worked out like a crazy person. Yes I could have been a obese person. I always was a yo-yo gaining weight every month and have to lose it. Since I was introduced to a product that tastes like a cake mix…My journey of yo-yo and problem with health went away. I was 178lbs after being stressed due to illness of family member. I tried the product and lost 6.5lbs in my first week. I was down to 14lbs in the second week. I was committed to the 90 Day Challenge. I went from 178lbs to 145lbs and now on a second challenge to tone. I feel great, don’t need surgery anymore, I have lots energy and did I say I didn’t exercise while on the product. I tired it and it works. My granddaughter and daughter is using this faithfully. If it safe for kids, diabetic patients (which family members have it) and other health illness patients than you know it’s a great product. You can reach your goal with little effort using the product. Please I know without a shadow of doubt this will help you to look as great as your beautiful daughter, I look like my daughter’s sister not mommy  …visit my site and contact me at http://www.MySexyIsBeautiful.com Love to hear from you.

Chanda as I sit here and look over the pages of you blog tears run down my face. I feel your pain, your anger, your sadness, your joy, your hurt, your uncertainty for I too am overweight. My plan for today was to get up and go to join my local weight watchers, but my son missed the school bus and I had to drive him to school which totally threw me off schedule and I ended up missing the meeting. I was so angry at him and I even told him that he was being selfish for not walking faster to get to the bus. I dropped him off and I didn’t even kiss him goodbye I just said “you’d better be good today!” I drove off and immediately felt horrible! I wanted to turn around and run inside and just hug him and tell him how much I love him and that it is not him, it’s me! Chanda I came home and I looked online to see when the next meeting time was so that I could join. I found myself on youtube and as God is my witness I still don’t know why I went there, but I started looking up weight loss. I came across your videos and I literally looked at each and every one of them! I was so touched and amazed at everything that you posted. Chanda I honestly don’t think that God meant for you to enter that Jenny O contest to win a trip to the biggest loser ranch. I believe that he allowed you to enter that contest to be an inspiration to people like me! I don’t know you girl, but I Love you with the Love of Jesus Christ! I am praying for you and I just know that you will lose the weight! I am so inspired by you! I am 5feet 2inches and I weigh 314LBS and actually it could be more than that after yesterdays Superbowl Sunday eat-a-thon! My goal is to get down to 130LBS. I am surely going to keep up with your videos and your blog Chanda because you truly inspire me. I thank God for my son who missed that bus! Stay Strong my sister in Christ!

I love watching your videos on YouTube. I started my weight loss journey last April at 368lbs. I cannot believe I let myself get that far gone! Currently I am down to 274lbs, and looking forward to that 100lb lost mark! The holidays did me wrong! But i am back on track and so inspired by your commitment! Keep it going!! We can do this!

  22. Dukes of Hazzard says:

WOW! What an inspiration this site has been for me! It looks as though we are ALL on our way to “wanting” or “desire” to lose 100lbs!! That’s awsome! I can just feel the anointing of the Holy Spirit working through this site. I pray that as were forge (no pun intended) on, that we TRULY keep God FIRST! He is the key to our success! I speak life into this situation, as death will surely be our fate if we don’t stop and seriously look at our lives and take care of our “temples”. You may want to first start by forgiving yourself for what you’ve done to your body. Then, ask God for forgiviness to the distruction you caused to your body. THEN MOVE ON! God will do the rest. Anoint and BLESS yourself daily! Ask finally, God to help you to make the right decisions where food is concerned throughout the day. The devil is out there waiting to tempt you at every turn. You have the power of the tounge to make him FLEE! This method has worked for me thus far. It’s my 3rd week in, and I am already down 11 pounds! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Let’s continue to keep each other lifted up in prayer as we walk this journey together back to our “original design” – Love you all!

    Greetings Chanda,

I stumbled across your video on youtube and I must say when I first saw it I was so proud of you but didn’t have any hope for myself. I am at the heavist weight I have ever been in my life. I had twins in 2009 and turned around and had another son in 2010! The weight just piled on! I’m at 300 pounds now! I never thought I would get there. But I reallllllllly need some inspiration because I am empty. I am a Co Pastor and I always have inspiration for others every week but finding it hard to pull it out of myself for me! I know I must make a move because I’m starting to see the mishaps of being extremely over weight…the aches of feet, back and knee pains, the HBP, let’s not mention having a hard time finding stuff to cover up the belly! lol But, I need a boost! Thank you for stepping out on faith and making this youtube video. I’m sure with God’s guidance and help you will go above and beyond! Please lift up a prayer for me so that I can find the energy and confidence to do what you are doing and that is …trying. God’s peace and blessing be multiplied to you each day you put forth effort.

    • Chanda says:

Wow, I know that must be hard being a Co-Pastor, lots of stress! I most definitley will be praying for you and please pray for me as well! We have to Include God in on EVERY SINGLE DETAIL of this lifestyle change, aka diet, aka weight loss program. We can do this with his help only! I have this devotional for dieters that I use to get, I’m going to look for it again. Just google it and set it up to come to your email daily. It helped me to focus enough to lose 100lbs a few years ago. However, I stopped reading them and stopped being motivated…wow, I just realized that. I’m going to start that back up again asap, let me know if you can’t find it. Bless you, you are a wonderful woman of God and you deserve to live out your life free from the problems related to obesity!

  25. Sharis says:

Congrats on the weight loss!!! You are doing great! I’m starting the challenge tomorrow. I’m glad I found your videos so inspiring. I have to lose 100 pounds!

  26. Suzieq says:

I am really serious about losing this weight. I am so in for the 100 day bootcamp. I want to be a slimmer, sexier me in 2012 and beyond. Off to a better healthier me.

  27. Melissa R. says:

Good job! You’re making such wonderful progress. You should be proud of yourself. I’m on a similar journey – 10/3/2011 I weighed 410lbs, today I’m down to 359lbs. Still sooooo far to go, but it’s a beginning. Considering that you’re looking at this from a Biblical standpoint, you might want to take a look at 90 Days of Purpose through http://www.wellwithu2.com as that’s what has worked well for me.

  28. Amy says:

Let me start by saying that I am proud of you!!! I am quite sure that this has been a hard process, but you are going to get through it. I am on a battle with weight myself, and it is difficult. I weigh 354 pounds and am trying to at least lose 100 pounds to start. Looking at your video’s has inspired me and I know that I am not alone in this journey. Please keep me lifted up in prayer and I will do the same for you!!! God is good and I know that without Him nothing is possible. So keep your head up and continue your weight loss journey!!!! Love & Blessings

  29. Keri says:

I started my weight loss journey weighing 395 pounds. I started in March 2011. Today is Dec 16th, 2011 and I have lost 89 pounds! Without surgery or pills. I did it all by myself. It was hard to start but I feel so good now. I have about 130 more pounds to go. You can do it. You got this. You are worth it. The best feeling is wearing jeans that once were too tight to put on. Only now, they are falling off and you gotta get the next size down. Keep going!

  30. Alissa Lynne says:

Awesome job you are doing…in such a short time and a great weight loss. It is not always easy but it will pay off. I started out at 320 and now down to 254 and pushing my way through to 157/170 – as hard as it is – the work will pay off in the end when you are running around with your children not out of breathe.

I shall be praying for you and know that you can do it for you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you! God bless and know that He is with you – do not worry about what others say or think, just know that you can and will do what is needed to be done for in Jesus there is no failure and He is with you always! Hugs my sister!!

  31. Dani Madi says:

I’ve been embarking on my own weight loss journey and haven’t found anything that works. I’m a 26 yr old, african-american female, of two children and I feel the aches and pains of being sooo overweight. I’ve always been the fat girl that blends into every crowd, and I would like to take charge of my life and my health. I, too, believe in the Almighty powers of our God and Father, but I’ve never tried reaching out to someone before. I would really like to know what you are doing. Your choices in diet, the length of time you spend at the gym, how many times a week on average, what type of exercises do you do…i have so many questions because I feel as though I want to do it, but I’m too afraid to commit as well. I really want to be healthy for me, but to also show my kids that a healthy weight will provide them a better quality of life as well. I just feel like I’m alone and I’m spinning in circles here because I don’t know what to do honestly. I have no direction, so the doubt makes it easier for me to just not go, or do. I guess what I’m asking is…may you help me?

  32. Lakia says:

Congrats on your loss, I know you can make it!

  33. Melissa says:

I just want to encourage you. I am 32 and weighed 460lbs at the beginning of the year as of last week I’m 407lbs. Even though people can’t really notice I know I’m doing it and I’m doing it for me not for anyone else. I speak encouragement out daily to myself such as: I am healthy, I have great circulation, I love eating healthy foods and I enjoy them, I love excersizing, I am a good person who loves and excepts people etc. I find it gets me in a positive state and I know God hears me. Keep on trying and if you want to chat email me anytime. Love and blessings.

  34. Devine says:

    wonderful keep pushing forward

  35. Yoli Don says:

Great job! I really commend you on yur efforts, and if weightloss is what you are striving for, it is what you are getting. Most people give up because it doens’t seem like the efforts are paying off fast enough, if you ever feel this way, remember slow and steady wins the race. I have tendancy to lose weight very swiftly when I get to a certain point. But, believe me, if you fix the weight and fail to fix your spirit and your mind it is all in vain. Besides, the quicker you lose it, the easier it is to gain it back. Again, I thik you are doing a wonderful thing and believe your journey will end wonderfully. Keep up the good work. God bless you and your family…
