Well, I went as far as I felt that I could go on the juice fast. I honestly thought that I could make it to 25 days but on day 20, the start of day 20, I lost all resolve! I was having all kind of irrational thoughts like what if I died that night and never got a chance to eat dinner with my husband and kids again! Crazy right? Well, needless to say, thoughts like that catapulted me into actions that I have now grown to regret. With all of my careful thoughts and planning concerning breaking the fast the CORRECT way, it only took smelling real food right in front of me to lose all resolve of breaking the fast with raw food! My meal consisted of sauteed mushrooms, salmon salad, and creamed spinach! Oh, and a piece of garlic toast, a nice sized piece at that. Sadly, every since then, it’s been downhill from there. I have not been eating a lot of food, but I’ve been eating a lot of the wrong foods. I still love my sweets! I have struggled these last four days to not eat ice cream and cookies and cheesecake, and I’ve lost big time! The fast was obviously not long enough, and that’s why I’m planning on restarting next week. I love, absolutely LOVE the feeling that I had while fasting on fresh fruit and vegetable juice. NOTHING compares to that feeling! I’m a little sad and slightly depressed that I am still struggling with my food addictions, I would think that 19 days without food would teach me some kind of discipline! Oh well, onward and upward..my journey continues. I’m too scared to get on the scale and see that the 30lbs that I lost has been most likely re-gained. However, I am excited to know that when all else fails that I can always run back to juicing! I stand by what I’ve been saying all along..this girl will be juicing for life!!!!:)
DAY 20 was as far as I made it!

Hi, I’ve followed your journey since about December last year silently, but I wanted to say to you that every small victory is a blessing. You did something that many still cannot do. It does take LOADS of discipline to do any kind of fast and you did that so don’t beat yourself up about it.
Have you ever researched the Master Cleanse? I’ve done it once a year for the past 5 years to clean out my system due to medications I take and for a small “reset” of my eating habits. You can go look it up, but when you finish, you really don’t have the same sort of cravings you did before, particularly for sugary foods or anything with a lot of fat… Girl, the first year I looked at a greasy piece of chicken after my cleanse I thought I would die!… Then I had to laugh cause it worked. After that I went to lots of raw veggies and slowly broke my fast, but never went back to certain foods. Baby steps as you know… But look into that and see if you think it would be beneficial to you. There is lots of information on it from people who have done it and it helped me. The first year I made only 4 days, 2nd year 9 days, 3rd year 17 days and I will try to go longer this year.
But overall, I just wanted to tell you that any effort you do is worthy of praise, just remember when you didn’t even think about it and it will be apparent that you are far away from where you were back then even if you slide back sometimes.
Be blessed sis
Wow, thank you for the motivational words! I just finished up a blog entry and was shocked and happy to see that someone had left a message! Yes, I did the master cleanse for nine days and I must say, juicing on different fruits and veggies was MUCH much easier, lol! I’m disgusted by the combination of lemons, syrup and pepper now for some reason. It makes me want to vomit..I tried it again a year later and could not stomach the combination. I’m proud of you though for doing it throughout the years..that is awesome! I want to thank you so much for following my journey, even though its a slow one. Please feel free to leave me a message anytime and please like me on facebook, we have a good little community of women who are on the same path for a healthier lifestyle. I just did a conference call tonight with them and will be doing it weekly. If you can join us, that would be fantastic! All of the info is on facebook…take care and God bless you and yours!
I have been following your juice fast with great interest. You have inspired me so much so that i’m anxiously awaiting my Breville juicer so that i may begin my juice fasting journey. All the years, some 25+, of diets, fads, gimmicks, reputable weight loss plans have gotten me to this point: morbidly obese with over 230 pounds to lose. The stakes are even higher this point in my life because i am a 42 year old single parent to my awesome 3 1/2 year old son. I must be healthy, whole, well for myself and him. PLEASE say a sincere prayer for me as i begin this journey to health( its so much more than just weight-loss i’m interested in now) and well-being as i am determined to regain my God given birthright of health and abundant life. I keep you in my thoughts, you and your lovely family. God keep us. May we continue to rise out of these ashes like the phoenix. Much love to you, Chanda.
Praying for you, I know that you can do this. Please keep me updated on your progress, I would love to rejoice with your on your many victories to come! Also let me know how that Breville juicer works out for you please..I’m looking to get me a new one. Thank you for your kind words and your love and support..it means a lot to me!:)
Have to tell you i love my juicer! It’s been a God send on this journey. My attempts to just juicehave been less than stellar over the last couple of weeks. I always find myself eating that 1 meal at the end of the day…working on that. However, i’m very serious about my health because i do realize that i am for the most part a single parent and i want/need to be here for my son and of course for me. I want me to be my best self and this isn’t it. Not so much because of the # on the scale but because I do allow the weight to make me somewhat of a prisoner and that is NO life. My son deserves better and so do i.
Keep doing your videos because they are so important, so relevant. I feel as if i have a new sister in Christ with you. I have someone who “gets” what i’m going through. I admire you because you are a loving mommy, wife, hard worker and i know it cant be easy making time for all of the things you do…but i’m glad that you do it! Keep me in your prayers as i keep you in mine. Thank you.
Well, it was a good run. You made it a long way. The good thing is it’s didn’t kill you. It made you stronger, and now when you start again you can push yourself a little farther. You still did good for yourself! Be proud!!!!!
Continued success to you…xoxo Ayana
Thank you so much Ayana!!!

I’m so proud of you! You are such an honest person. You are not hiding from your mistakes but admitting them and then facing them. No one can ask for more than that. As long as you keep on pushing, you will reach your goals.
It has been a blessing to watch you progress through your journey, and see the results! Please don’t stop, you are doing so much better than you give yourself credit for!!!
Thank you so much. All I can do is keep on trying right..hopefully one day it will just click for me! Thank you for being a constant support system for me via the web, it means more to me than you will ever know!:)
